The story
Alex and Noémie, both in their thirties, hope to have a child, but their plans are unsettled by the increasingly eccentric behavior of Alex’s mother, Suzanne. She is suffering from degenerative dementia and can no longer manage on her own, making life more difficult for the couple. As they face the demands of Suzanne’s growing dependence alongside their hopes of becoming parents, Alex and Noémie must find a new balance in their lives. The story frames this as a turbulent journey of parenthood in reverse, as Suzanne becomes increasingly like a child.
