The story
After the Nakba of 1948, three Palestinians from different regions meet in a small town near the border. Each recalls what has just happened to them, and their shared desire to escape poverty leads them to plan a clandestine journey to Kuwait. They set out across the desert hidden in a tanker truck, facing the extreme heat along the way. Their intertwined stories frame a journey shaped by displacement and the hope of a different life.

The Dupes tells three stories that become one: the desire to go to Kuwait to escape poverty... After the “Nakba” (catastrophe) of 1948, three Palestinians from different regions meet in a small town near the border. Each of them remembers what has just happened to them. They decide to travel clandestinely through the desert in a tanker truck. It is scorching hot there... This story is a metaphor for the tragedy of the Palestinian people.
