Two young Polish brothers risk a hidden journey to Denmark, only to find the West is not the paradise they imagined.
The story
Two Polish brothers, aged fifteen and twelve, flee their crisis-ridden homeland in search of a better life in Denmark. Hidden beneath a truck, they make the journey west and reach a place they had imagined as a land of plenty. Their arrival challenges that expectation: they soon discover that life in the West is not quite what they had hoped. The account establishes their escape and the first conflict between their idealized picture of Denmark and the reality they encounter, without detailing what happens afterward.
