Full plot (contains spoilers)
From the region along the Caspian Sea, Mahtab, Mahrokh’s sister, is traveling to Tehran with her husband and two children to bring the precious mirror—the family heirloom of the bride-to-be—to the wedding. On the way, a village woman joins them on their journey. In a terrible accident involving a tanker truck, they all lose their lives. The family hears the tragic news, and the wedding turns into a wake. But the grandmother (Jamileh Sheikhi), hardly believing they are dead, still hopes they will arrive. Besides, there is no sign of the precious mirror; the truck driver and his apprentice report nothing about it. While the mourning continues despite the grandmother’s hopes, Mahrokh, distraught, appears in her wedding dress, followed by Mahtab and the other deceased, carrying the family heirloom mirror. The family’s astonishment and the light reflected in the mirror create a magical effect, illustrating the film’s enigmatic ending.
