In wartime Serbia, two transvestite prostitutes and a returning soldier seek peace by sharply different means.
The story
Set during the war in Serbia in the mid-1990s, the film follows Merlin and Sanela, transvestite prostitutes living in a suburb of Belgrade. Merlin dreams of luxury, while Sanela is in love with a bodybuilder and wants to marry him. They see prostitution as a form of pacifism, a way to calm potential rapists and gamblers. Their outlook is contrasted with Johnny, who has returned from the war in Bosnia. Like Merlin and Sanela, he seeks peace, but his means are radically different.
