Full plot (contains spoilers)
In Clermont-Ferrand, just before the Christmas holidays, Médéric, in his thirties, approaches Isadora (Noémie Lvovsky), a prostitute older than him, and tells her he is in love with her. Isadora treats him like an ordinary client and tells him she is married, but he insists on having a relationship without paying and says he will do things to her that she is not used to. She is puzzled, but still takes the piece of paper with his phone number on it when she gets into a car she had been waiting for. While he is having sex with Isadora in a hotel room, her husband bursts in unexpectedly. A terrorist attack takes place at the same time, and the city is gripped by fear. On his way home, Médéric encounters a young man who resembles a police sketch of one of the terrorists. He feeds him and takes him in. All these people’s lives intersect and overlap, like those of Médéric’s neighbors.
