Full plot (contains spoilers)
The end of the school year is drawing ever closer. The girls are rehearsing diligently for the play they are to perform for their parents: Romeo and Juliet. After an audition, Mademoiselle Bertoux chooses Nanni to play Juliet, although the teacher thinks she is Hanni. However, Nanni does not want to accept the role. Girls from England are also supposed to take part in the play. Because of a misunderstanding, Mister Gordon arrives at Lindenhof Castle with his class of boys. Before long, Hanni falls in love with Clyde, one of the boys. Daniela also wants to flirt with him, which leads to a quarrel with Hanni. But Clyde only thinks Hanni is wonderful; he does not know she has a twin sister. So whenever he meets Nanni, he thinks she is Hanni. As a result, Nanni also falls in love with Clyde, who eventually discovers that he is dealing with twin sisters. Meanwhile, Hanni also learns that Nanni is in love with Clyde. The twins then have a serious argument. At the same time, an old school friend of Headmistress Theobald's, Professor Kästner, turns up at the boarding school. The two have always secretly been in love with each other. Things also become rather special between Frau Mägerlein and Mister Gordon. Just in time for the performance of Romeo and Juliet, all the disputes are settled. However, the performance does not turn out as Mademoiselle Bertoux expected. The girls and boys turn the love drama into a dance show, with Hanni, Nanni, and Daniela, who have since become friends, in the leading roles.
