To have any hope of collecting the prize, he must register with the gaming organization in Marseille before the sixtieth day, when the winnings risk being put back up for grabs. That deadline is just an hour away. A frantic race against the clock ensues as they try to get there in time. He returns to his headquarters to join his accomplices, Farid Boulane (Illyès Salah) and Erwan “Omar” Prigent, and discovers that he has won just as he is about to carry out the planned mass killing. A discussion follows about the meaning of this win. Henri Vasseur, on the verge of death in a retirement home, sees the lottery results on television. As his numbers appear one by one, he becomes so tense that, when the winning numbers are announced, he collapses to the floor, activating the emergency call button. Care assistant Sandra Arnaud (Anouk Grinberg) is the first to reach the room and tries unsuccessfully to revive him. Her colleague Mathilde Levy (Louise Coldefy) soon joins her, hears the results being repeated on television, finds the lottery ticket in Henri’s hand, and understands why he died. Mathilde decides to take the ticket and offers to split the winnings with Sandra, who is offended and refuses. Jessica Sato (Ayumi Roux), a nurse who is finishing her shift, enters the room. Mathilde hides the ticket behind her back and lies. Sandra reveals what has happened. Jessica demands an equal three-way split. Mathilde refuses, arguing that since Jessica arrived later, she should receive a smaller share. The [role or name omitted] (Sam Karmann), accompanied by care assistant Yasin Belhaj (Yasin Houicha), enters the room. Mathilde continues to hide the ticket behind her back.
