The story
Gui Xiao-wu, a young orphan whose family was massacred years earlier, travels to the Gan family manor to meet his fiancée Lian-zhu, a childhood friend he has not seen for many years. On the way, he tries to help a convoy attacked by bandits and is wounded. A mysterious woman dressed in red, known as the Lady in Red, takes him in and treats him. When Gui reaches the manor, he discovers that his future in-laws’ household, which includes many women, appears to be concealing dark secrets.

Gui Xiao-wu, a young orphan whose family was massacred a few years earlier, travels to the Gan family manor to meet his fiancée Lian-zhu, a childhood friend he has not seen in many years. As he tries to help a convoy under attack by bandits, he is wounded but taken in and treated by a mysterious lady dressed in red, known as the Lady in Red. Once he arrives at the Gan manor, he soon realizes that his future in-laws, whose household includes many women, are hiding dark secrets.
