Fabio initially declines, but after losing his job he returns to hear the plan, then travels to Milan with his former colleague Enzo. They approach an employee who can provide a secondary opening system for the store’s safe, but must pay a large sum. After tricking the employee to obtain it, they are discovered by the boardinghouse owner, who joins their scheme. Deborah helps them get inside the store to study its alarms, while Tonino, a former sewer-maintenance worker, may help them enter from underground.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Giulio, arrested in Rome for a robbery, receives a visit in prison from his brother Fabio and explains that he needed the stolen money to finance a bigger job at a jewelry store in Milan. He proposes the robbery to his brother, but Fabio is not interested. However, when Fabio loses his job because his employer is forced to lay him off due to the economic crisis, he goes back to Giulio to hear the details of the heist. He and Enzo, a former colleague, then set off for Milan. In Milan, Enzo and Fabio settle into the “Pensione Roma” and contact an employee of the company that installed the jewelry store’s safe. The employee is willing to hand over the secondary opening system, intended for use if the combination is lost, in exchange for a large sum of money—the amount for which Giulio was arrested. The two manage to obtain the system by tricking the technician, but the boardinghouse owner discovers them and joins their scheme. To study the jewelry store’s alarm systems, they find a way to get inside with the help of Deborah, a beautiful young woman from Umbria whom Enzo knows. Pretending to be the fiancée of the young heir to the Visconti family, she catches the manager’s attention. The boardinghouse owner introduces them to Tonino, a former employee of a company that maintained the sewers, who can help them enter the jewelry store from underground. As they leave their reconnaissance visit, they run into the computer technician they tricked. He tells them he has sold the system to a rival gang, which paid the asking price and is already preparing its own heist, and advises them to back out because those people are not to be messed with. Enzo decides to leave the group and return to Rome, but Fabio and Deborah refuse to give up. After finding the rival gang’s hideout, they discover that the gang has bypassed the jewelry store’s pressure-sensitive floor by using a trapeze artist to reach the safe. Enzo has also thought of using a trapeze artist, and returns to Milan to hire Igor, but the rival gang is a problem. So the two friends tip off the police, who arrest the rival thieves. To get the key to the jewelry store, Deborah tries every way she can to seduce the manager, but when she discovers that he is gay, Fabio has to lure him at a gay club called the “Marilyn.” With the key finally in hand, they can carry out the robbery, and Igor’s parents also come to help cover the noise of the digging. Because of various mishaps, the robbery fails, forcing the three to flee through the sewers and hide in the cellars of the building opposite. A politician lives there under house arrest for taking kickbacks. Hearing the police sirens and fearing he will have to go back to prison, he decides to throw away all the banknotes hidden in his home—the money from the bribes for which he had been investigated. The gang then recovers the money, which, as if by magic, rains down on them.
