The story
Four stories unfold in or around a cafeteria beside a main road. One concerns an unarmed robber whose victim is herself an armed robber; another follows two very amateurish kidnappers who abduct a suicidal teenage girl. Elsewhere, two singers talk about a stolen hit song, while five people in their seventies meet again at their old hideout.

Four stories unfold in or around a cafeteria by a main road. We meet, in turn: an unarmed robber whose victim is herself an armed robber; two very amateurish kidnappers who abduct a suicidal teenage girl; two singers talking about a stolen hit song; and five people in their seventies who meet again at their old “hideout.” Three of the stories, which seem separate at first, turn out over the course of the film to have some echoes, leading up to the surprising epilogue.
