Full plot (contains spoilers)
Seventeen-year-old Laura lives in a small town and is terribly bored. Her mother gets on her nerves, boys her age seem dim-witted to her, and all the amusements seem childish. One day, her energetic friend Merritt persuades Laura to go on a hike organized by Jozep, an expert on local nature. At first, the withdrawn girl and the eccentric man have a strained relationship. But before long, Laura admits to herself that Jozep’s roughness intrigues her. As the journey nears its end, Laura must figure out whether her connection with a mature man is just a play of hormones or the first true love of her life.
