Full plot (contains spoilers)
In the urban jungle of Berlin, all kinds of people cross paths. Mathilda can’t get her life under control. The jobs she takes repeatedly lead to personal disaster, and the same thing happens with her relationships. Her neighbors complain about her loud music and call the police. When the police respond, she falls in love with officer Bronski. Perhaps her life will finally change now. Her sister Ali is a successful businesswoman. Even so, she is suffering too. She lives with her husband, David, and their son. David is unsuccessful himself and can’t cope with his wife’s success. Ali, in turn, fails in her efforts to manage her relationship and raise her son as well as she manages her career. In the end, she is in danger of failing on all fronts. David finds solace with Hanna and faces a decision: whether to spend the rest of his life with Ali and fight for their relationship, or to continue along what seems to be the uncomplicated path with Hanna. Andi is a taxi driver. He thinks he is fat and unattractive. The lonely man places a personal ad and hopes to find happiness with Johanna. Johanna is struggling not only with being single, but above all with her pubescent daughter Mandy, who makes her life hell. Mandy also has anonymous phone conversations with Andi, who presents himself in these calls as an attractive man-about-town. When Johanna and Andi meet, the misunderstanding comes to light, and Mandy threatens to destroy this relationship of her mother’s too, before it has even got started.
