To honor a promise he made to Sam, an old friend, Georges travels to Beirut for a project as utopian as it is risky: staging Anouilh’s play Antigone in order to steal a moment of peace in the midst of the Lebanese war. The roles will be played by actors from the different political and religious factions. Lost in a city and a conflict he does not know, Georges is guided by Marwan. But Israel’s invasion of Lebanon soon calls everything into question, and Georges, who falls in love with Imane, a Palestinian actress living in the Chatila camp, will have to face the reality of war.
