Les regrets (2009)

Mathieu, an architect, leaves Paris in a hurry after being called to his dying mother’s bedside. In the small town in Brittany, between the hospital and the deserted house where he grew up, he waits for his wife, Lisa, to join him. By chance, he runs into Maya in the street, his first love, whom he left fifteen years earlier. A few words are enough to rekindle a passion that has remained intact. The former lovers begin an affair, even though Franck, Maya’s husband, seems to understand that Mathieu’s return is unsettling his wife. During his mother’s final agony and at her death, Mathieu can count on Lisa’s support, and the bond between the married couple grows stronger. Mathieu and Lisa return to Paris, closer than ever. They devote themselves fully to the architecture firm they share. A few months pass. Maya comes to Paris and calls Mathieu, who abandons an important meeting to join her. Maya obsesses him. The passion becomes impossible to control.
