Lucy ist jetzt Gangster (2022)

Ten-year-old Lucy is kind, hardworking, helpful, generous—and, as she herself knows, “too good for this world.” That becomes an obstacle when her parents’ much-loved ice cream shop, which has always made everyone happy, is on the verge of bankruptcy, and Lucy sees the only way to get the money they need as obtaining it illegally—with a bank robbery. She persuades Tristan, the class bully whom nobody likes, to train her to be a gangster, offering to tutor him in return. She makes progress in “being bad” only slowly, but she is determined. When Tristan realizes she is serious about robbing the bank, he teams up with her best friend Rima to talk her out of it, but they fail. Rima feels pushed aside, and their friendship is put under strain. When Lucy finally carries out her robbery alone, it collides with a robbery by two adults, who seem poorly prepared and have no escape route. After a brief struggle with her new “bad self,” Lucy’s good nature wins out. With a trick and the help of her friends, she foils the robbery. The ice cream shop is eventually saved by donations from everyone in the little town. Lucy becomes a local celebrity and is now part of a trio of friends with Tristan and Rima.
