Full plot (contains spoilers)
The widowed industrialist Alexander Engelmann has a somewhat neglected 16-year-old daughter named Julia. Wanting a mother for her, he decides to marry the actress Ilona Farkas, whom he met during a flight. In any case, she is Julia’s idol. Engelmann’s servant Paul delivers the proposal to Ilona, who eventually agrees in order to teach the arrogant man a lesson. At the wedding celebration, she turns everything upside down, and for Julia’s birthday she throws a big party. Engelmann reproaches her, whereupon Ilona leaves the house. Of course, the separation does not last, because by then the two have truly fallen in love with each other, and Julia too has found the man of her life in the journalist Tommy.
