A sailor boards the Resolute, beginning a music-led portrait of the customs, work, beliefs, and fears of the cultures in the regions visited.
The story
The film begins with a sailor waking up and boarding the Hapag ship Resolute. From there, images follow one another to the rhythm of the music, linked by transitions inspired by the images and shared themes. The film surveys customs and traditions, working worlds, religions, local particularities, eating habits, and musical traditions in the regions visited. It also presents fears, including depictions of war among inhabitants. Through these juxtapositions, the film shows both connections and differences between cultures.

The film begins with a sailor waking up and boarding the Hapag ship Resolute. What follows is a portrayal of customs and traditions, working worlds, religions, local particularities, eating habits, musical traditions, and also fears—notably through depictions of war among the inhabitants of all the regions visited.
