Full plot (contains spoilers)

The passionate pastry chef Molly Maurer is in debt and has to close her shop. Together with Grandma Klara, she discovers an advertisement for the pastry competition “Sweeter Than Ever.” Molly decides to enter, since the prize is either 30,000 euros or a job in Singapore. At first, she is skeptical that she has any chance among hundreds of contestants. Once in Vienna, Molly’s friend Azra smuggles Molly’s pug into the venue. When Molly is about to present her entry, she is so impressed by fellow contestant Lukas that she trips and falls with her creation. Her work of art is destroyed. Azra asks for an extension to the submission deadline and succeeds in getting one. With Azra’s help and the pug’s—and later Florentin’s—Molly puts together a new creation. At a market for Asian food, she finds ingredients, and she gets lavender from a woman at a laundromat. Molly presents her new creation to the judges. They are divided, but with the pug’s help, Molly makes it through to the second round. The challenge is to create a special kind of praline within 40 minutes. Beforehand, Arabella dilutes the chocolate mixture, but Lukas and Molly make up for it with fresh chocolate. The camera crew admire Molly because she can make chocolate rings. Her praline is judged to be one of the best. In the final, Molly, Lukas, and Arabella compete against one another: they must present a sculpture made entirely of chocolate. Arabella cheats, intending to use a grid to keep her sculpture stable. Out of jealousy, she also destroys Lukas’s chocolate sculpture, which he had prepared. The pug witnesses her doing it. Lukas is upset about the destroyed sculpture and thinks the pug is to blame, but Molly defends the dog. Molly then helps Lukas remake the sculpture and falls in love with him. Meanwhile, the pug eats chocolate flakes and becomes ill. In the final, tension mounts as everyone awaits the best sculpture and the winner. Before that, the contestants put the finishing touches on their figures, although no aids such as grids or rods are allowed inside them. Molly melts chocolate, shapes it into balls of different sizes and colors, and uses them to make a chocolate sculpture of a pug. Lukas and Arabella are initially declared the winners. Molly is disappointed, but the pug’s keen nose exposes the trick in Arabella’s sculpture by knocking it over. It breaks apart, revealing the supporting grid inside. Arabella is immediately disqualified. After a new vote, Molly wins. She receives the 30,000 euros she had hoped for, and Lukas gets the job in Singapore. At dinner, Lukas offers to take Molly with him to Singapore, but she declines.
