The story
Anne, a brilliant biologist, is raising three children, each fathered by a different man. The children do not know who their fathers are, and the fathers are unaware that they have children with Anne. When eleven-year-old Victor decides he is ready to meet his father, his grandmother takes action. She arranges a surprise two-week trip to Mexico involving Anne, her children, the fathers, and their families, bringing together people whose connections have so far remained unknown to them.
