The story
Lou is a gifted, shy 13-year-old whose mother is depressed. While preparing a school presentation about homeless people and their daily lives, Lou interviews No, an 18-year-old girl with no family who lives on the streets. Lou gets to know No and becomes her friend. Hoping to help her find work, Lou arranges for her parents to take No in. The setup centers on the connection between the two girls and Lou’s attempt to offer No a place to stay and a chance to find a job.
