Papa ou maman (2015)

Florence and Vincent, having succeeded in their careers, decide to divorce. They discuss their separation with their friends, but have not yet told their children. Vincent takes the children and asks them to come home because he has important news to tell them. Florence, who picks up their eldest son after he throws yogurt at a teacher, is unable to tell them the news during dinner. Vincent, a doctor, has an affair with a new nurse, leaving Florence on her own. Florence, a construction site manager, learns from her colleague that he has been promoted, and her boss, recognizing her excellent work, puts her forward for a position in Denmark. Florence discovers Vincent’s new girlfriend at the hospital. At the divorce hearing, Florence and Vincent argue about custody of the children. The judge advises them to reach an agreement. They finally tell the children about the divorce, explaining that the family will stay together, but not under the same roof. The children are confused by the separation. Florence, who is making noodles for the children, deliberately coats them in dishwashing liquid, causing them to get indigestion. Vincent discovers what happened and realizes that Florence was responsible. Under their shared custody arrangement, Vincent has to sleep in the same room as his son, while Florence goes to a party with her daughter to keep an eye on the girl’s boyfriend, and dances with the teenagers. Dressed provocatively, Florence hosts a dinner with her children and her boss, pretending to be romantically involved with him, but the children disapprove. Vincent buys a new house near a railway line and a busy road, and takes his mother and the children there. On their son’s birthday, Vincent invites himself to the party Florence is hosting. An argument breaks out between them and continues throughout the house, and they end up kissing in the bedroom. The children leave the next day. A fire breaks out at Vincent’s house. Florence and Vincent collect the children, but the fire has badly damaged the house. The divorce papers are signed, and Florence leaves for Denmark with the children. Seven months later, Vincent goes to Denmark and discovers that Florence is pregnant.
