Perdrix (2019)

Pierre Perdrix is a 37-year-old gendarmerie captain settled into a comfortable, routine, if unusual, existence. A bachelor, he shares the family home with his mother Thérèse, host of a radio advice show, his brother Julien, a geodrilologist (a specialist in earthworms), and his twelve-year-old niece Marion, Julien’s daughter. Their father died in an accident more than twenty years ago, but his memory remains vivid and carefully preserved. Passing through town, Juliette Webb, a fanciful and fiery young woman, bursts into the gendarmerie officer’s life and turns it upside down. Her car and all the notebooks she has been writing in since childhood were stolen by a gang of revolutionary nudists who advocate giving up the superfluous and are causing a disturbance in the region by stripping people of their possessions. Juliette and Pierre set out to find the car, each using their own methods, while a historical reenactment of local battles from the Second World War is taking place in the area.
