Full plot (contains spoilers)
Conrad Lachance (Gilles Latulippe), whose name is ironically unsuitable, is in love with Gisèle Gagnon (Céline Lomez), who comes from a rich, snobbish family. Since Conrad has no job, his sweetheart’s parents (Huguette Oligny and Yves Létourneau) oppose the marriage. Conrad eventually finds work as a nurse in a hospital, and despite many twists and turns, everything seems to be working out. Until the day his parents (Denis Drouin and Suzanne Langlois) arrive. A major problem of class and education arises between the two families. But don’t they say that love always triumphs? ... Conrad goes to Montreal in search of Gisèle, and while he is in a cabaret, he runs into an apathetic-emotional character [Alpha Boucher] who is indeed dating a Gisèle Gagnon—but not the right one, leading to misunderstandings.
