Full plot (contains spoilers)

Michele is a famous, shallow, racist man whose life revolves around conquering beautiful women and flaunting luxury status symbols on social media and elsewhere. His life, however, changes during a trip to Budapest. After a night of partying involving sex, alcohol, and pills, he is robbed of his expensive car, his documents, and his wallet. He is later attacked by three immigrants in front of a police patrol, which then arrests him and turns him over to a detention camp, mistaking him for an undocumented migrant (the attackers had stolen Michele’s documents). From there, he escapes with four Black detainees, first stealing the very police car that had arrested him and then continuing on foot. When they reach the border, he parts ways with the others, except for Mugambi, who had disappeared the previous evening, and goes on alone. He meets a woman whose car has broken down, Ursula, who turns out to be the commander of the local Slovenian police station and arrests him. In the next cell, he finds Mugambi again, and after a series of mutual insults, Michele notices that his cell door is open, so he helps Mugambi escape too. Once they are outside, it becomes clear that Ursula deliberately let them escape in order to send them to a different prison, a labor camp for migrants without documents. There, Michele meets Babelle, a beautiful young woman, and later escapes with her and Mugambi. The next morning, Babelle has disappeared, and it turns out that she extorted from one person the location and from another the combination needed to open a safe containing forged documents for entering Italy. The three of them do manage to reunite in the room, but Babelle tasers them both and steals the forged documents so she can escape. In the end, Michele wakes up to the sound of the Alpini choir, steals a uniform, but is discovered as he is crossing the border. He is arrested and taken back to Slovenia, while Babelle and Mugambi take advantage of the confusion to enter Italy. Michele tries to convince them that he is not Tunisian.
