Full plot (contains spoilers)
Frida and her friend sing “Set the prisoners free—it’s spring!” and paint slogans on a prison wall. They want to give the prisoners a chance at freedom and rehabilitation. They then ride home to the house they share, where they continue their conversation about different kinds of police officers until the full moon shines and it is time to sleep. The newly released prisoner Harald Hansson returns to a life of crime when he breaks into the municipal judge’s home one night. During the break-in, he makes an indelible impression on the judge’s daughter. She falls so deeply in love with him that she then tries to come up with new ways to spring him from prison; these are not entirely successful, even though neither the prison director nor the guard is particularly sharp.
