Slunce, seno a pár facek (1989)

Blažena and Miluna don’t get along very well. Grandma, lying in a wheeled bed, is constantly acting up so she won’t have to take the medicine from Dr. Kroupa (Josef Stárek). Venca Konopník wants to marry the pregnant Blažena, but Miluna wants to stop him. Rumors started by Miluna spread through the village and set off a full-scale battle between the Konopník and Škopek families. The rumors say that Venca has a child with Ing. Tejfarová. One day, Gábina Tejfarová visits Béďa, the animal keeper. And trouble in the relationship between Béďa and Evička, the JZD accountant, is not long in coming. Gábina runs into the priest, who was riding a bicycle. She drives him back to the village and then visits Miluna. The rumors reach Mrs. Škopek’s ears; Keliška from the rectory tells her about them. Mrs. Škopek and Mrs. Konopník go to the local pub, where Maruška Škopek starts insulting Miluna. So the Škopek and Konopník families take the matter up with their children. Maruš first finds the fat Josef for Blažena, and then Dr. Karel Kroupa. Headmistress Václavka Hubičková (Jiřina Jirásková) and Josef stand by Blažena. Blažena asks the fat Josef for a favor. Josef goes to Bavorov to get decorations, and Blažena is supposed to go too. Venca and Headmistress Václavka go as well. In Bavorov, she marries Venca. When they return home, Blažena says she won’t marry the doctor. Mrs. Škopek flies into a rage. When a full-scale brawl breaks out at Blažena’s wedding to the doctor, the officiant says what he learned from the marriage certificate, and Headmistress Václavka confirms it. Headmistress Václavka leaves with the doctor, whom Blažena has turned down.
