The story
Carlo, a thirty-year-old dermatologist, has built an orderly life around his career, caring parents and good friends, leaving little room for feelings. That stability is shattered when his wife dies in childbirth. Suddenly, Carlo is alone caring for Sofia, their ten-month-old daughter, whose needs consume his physical and mental energy and unsettle his certainties. Young, inexperienced and anxious, he struggles to imagine a life beyond fatherhood. Then he meets Camille, a young French researcher whose sunny nature and passionate, uncertain ways begin to stir something new in him.

The life of Carlo, a thirty-year-old dermatologist, has always been perfect: caring parents, a career already underway, good friends. His is an orderly existence, with little room for feelings. But a sudden event—the death of his wife in childbirth—shakes him to the core. Carlo finds himself alone caring for his daughter Sofia, a ten-month-old baby who can absorb all his physical and mental energy and make every one of his certainties waver. For this young, inexperienced and anxious father, there seems to be no room for anything else. At least until he meets Camille, a young French researcher. Faced with her sunny nature and her passionate, uncertain ways, Carlo feels reborn. And, little by little, he also begins to understand the deeper meaning of being a father.
