The story
Louise struggles to save her family’s laundromat and takes a job with a company that makes dolls. Sam, a mother of three girls, is preparing to give birth again. Lili, a miner’s daughter exiled to New Caledonia, returns to mainland France. She dreams of working in industry and, while waiting for that opportunity, wins the title of Miss Francophonie.

The film tells the story of three women. Louise struggles to save her family’s laundromat and gets a job at a company that makes dolls. Sam is the mother of three girls and is preparing to give birth again. Finally, Lili, a miner’s daughter who was exiled to New Caledonia, returns to mainland France. She dreams of working in industry and, while waiting for that day, wins the title of Miss Francophonie. The three women eventually meet through the making of a doll in Lili’s likeness.
