Two close-knit doctor brothers find their bond tested when they both fall for the single mother of a young patient.

The story

Brothers Boris and Dimitri Pizarnik are doctors in Paris’s Chinatown, where they live in the same building and devote themselves to their patients. Having cared for their sick mother together, they remain unusually close, though they differ in temperament: Dimitri is described as fragile and a repentant alcoholic, while Boris is rougher and more reserved. One night, they are called to treat Alice, a young girl with diabetes who is being raised alone by her mother, Judith. Both brothers fall for Judith, setting their close relationship against competing romantic feelings.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Boris (Cédric Kahn) and Dimitri Pizarnik (Laurent Stocker) are doctors in Paris’s Chinatown. They are brothers, their relationship is exceptionally close, and they live in the same building. They cared for their sick mother together, and they practice medicine together, devoting all their time and attention to their patients. Dimitri seems more fragile, a repentant alcoholic, while Boris is rougher and more reserved. One night, they are called to treat a little girl with diabetes, Alice (Paula Denis), who is being raised alone by her mother, Judith (Louise Bourgoin). They both fall in love with her. But although Judith chooses Boris, she has not entirely severed ties with Alice’s father, who turns up unexpectedly. Soon, everything will be turned upside down... The two brothers will part ways; one may find happiness with the woman who had come between them, while the other seems destined for solitude. But their brotherly love endures.
