Full plot (contains spoilers)
Antonia “Toni” Livesi is raising her five teenage children on her own in a house in Nice. In her youth, she enjoyed a certain degree of fame as a singer and still sometimes sings in the evenings to make ends meet, but she has never regained the success she had when she was young. As her eldest daughter, Mathilde, prepares to go abroad, and the next two are about to take their baccalaureate exams and set off on their own paths too, Toni begins to question her life and feels drawn to return to the studies she abandoned after her baccalaureate, with the aim of becoming a teacher. Her singing career never reflected what she wanted: after taking part in Star Academy, she had only been fulfilling her mother’s dream. When she became pregnant, she seized the opportunity to turn the page on her career; then, raising her five children, who arrived in quick succession, kept her very busy. But her true ambition is to become a teacher. To make her dream come true, she takes a career assessment, applies to Pôle emploi for financial support, and enrolls at university. Her children are not always very enthusiastic about her plans, and there are many obstacles: Mathilde dreams of a dance school in Budapest, Marcus is considering moving to Lyon to pursue a course that will help his career as a videographer, but it is Timothée, in the throes of an adolescent crisis and prone to violent outbursts, who causes the most tension in the family. But despite everything, she stubbornly continues along the path she has chosen.
