Toni helps Luise move in with Sami, where he meets Wanda, Sami’s sister. She has Down syndrome. Wanda is supposed to go to the workshop for work, and Luise asks Toni to drive her. On the way, Toni gets a call from Karen, who is in labor. Toni wants to drop Wanda off along the way, but she insists on coming with him. Wanda helps Toni deliver the baby. When he takes her to the workshop afterward, Wanda says she would also like to become a midwife. Tom, the workshop’s manager, scolds her for being late yet again. Back home, Toni learns from Franzl that his mother, Malu, will be living with them for six weeks. Franzl wants to get rid of everything that reminds him of Evi because he is afraid Malu might have a problem with the fact that his girlfriend is 15 years older than he is. When Franzl learns that his mother is writing a new book, he panics because he has already once served as the model for one of her psychology books. He puts on an act for Evi, making her think he has had to go away and definitely won’t run into his mother. At the clinic, Luise reprimands Toni for putting the idea of becoming a midwife into Wanda’s head. But Toni goes to Evi to ask whether training might nevertheless be possible. Evi initially wants nothing to do with it, but Karen also manages to convince her that Wanda is suitable. Wanda first has to pass a stress test involving three baby-simulation dolls, which she does brilliantly. Sami, however, doesn’t believe Wanda would make it through the training, while Luise thinks she should be given the chance. When one of the instructors is unavailable, Toni is allowed to take over the class with Wanda. Toni is surprised by how assertively Wanda handles herself in the first lesson when she is faced with rude comments. Malu is bothered that Franzl is still single and tries to pump Toni for information, but he takes her hints in stride. When Wanda struggles with the Latin terms in class, Toni tries to defend her but only makes things worse. Wanda runs off from him; she just wants to go home. When she loses her way, a cyclist bumps into her and she falls. Dennis, who works nearby at a mobile-phone shop, helps her. They take to each other right away and arrange to meet. Since Franzl is bothered by what his mother thinks of him, he pretends to her that he has a girlfriend. None other than Luise is supposed to play his girlfriend. Toni is highly amused by the way they embarrass themselves. Wanda goes on an outing with Dennis, and when it starts to rain, they take shelter in a hut and grow closer. Luise worries about Wanda because she saw her leave with Dennis. She talks to Toni about it, but he isn’t concerned. For the practical exam, Evi wants Wanda to help her, even though Wanda has never done it before. Although Evi puts many obstacles in her way, Wanda handles this perfectly too. But Wanda begins to doubt herself because she can never become a real midwife. Back home, Wanda has to look after Lotta, Luise’s daughter. Dennis comes by to support her. Once Lotta is finally asleep, the two end up in bed together. When Sami and Luise also get home, they catch them. Sami completely loses it because they had sex. He throws Dennis out, and Wanda runs off too, going to Toni’s. Sami suspects she has gone to him, so a short while later he turns up with Luise. Sami wants to apologize to Wanda, but he has a problem with Dennis being “normal.” He is afraid Dennis will take advantage of Wanda and that she will get pregnant. Toni wants to throw Sami out, but Sami refuses to leave. They start fighting, and Luise steps in and ushers him out. On the way home, Sami reproaches Luise because he is jealous of Toni. The next morning at the clinic, they do pregnancy tests in class, and one participant discovers that she is pregnant. Wanda secretly takes her urine and switches it with her own. She wants to test Dennis with the result. She confronts him with it; he is surprised and afraid because the child could also have trisomy 21. The next morning, Toni goes to wake Wanda, but she is already gone and has left him a letter. He finds her at the workshop because she no longer believes she can pass the training. Wanda sees herself only as Toni’s project and is sure he is doing this to prove to Luise that he is a better guy than Sami. After Toni and Sami talk things through and make up, they go to the workshop to collect Wanda for the exam. She hesitates at first, but eventually goes with them. Malu suddenly turns up at Franzl’s house again to ask if she can move back in because she feels lonely at home. Evi arrives with Toni, and they run into Malu, who wants to know who Evi is. Franzl tries to clear up the situation but gets tangled up in lies again. Evi wants to run off, but Franzl catches up with her and apologizes for the whole fiasco. Wanda moves out of Sami’s place because she wants to stand on her own two feet. Toni talks to Luise, who wants to know why things never worked out between them. He casually replies that they always had terrible timing.
