A girl who has pretended to be an experienced rider must help a wild horse, despite being terrified of horses herself.
The story
Eleven-year-old Alise says she is horse-crazy and has ridden for years, but she has been lying and is actually terrified of horses. On the way home from school with her friend Rebekka, she encounters a wild horse galloping toward them. When the girls lock it inside a basketball court, Alise turns to her grandfather, who really knows about horses. They take the horse, Trigger, to a nearby stable. Then someone says Trigger will be shot unless it is ridden within two days—a challenge that seems impossible for Alise, who knows nothing about horses.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The main character, Alise, is an 11-year-old girl. She says she is horse-crazy and has been riding for a long time, but she has been lying about everything. Alice is actually terrified of horses. One day, when she and her friend Rebekka are on their way home from school, a wild horse comes galloping straight toward them. Rebekka expects Alise, who supposedly knows so much about horses, to do something. It ends with them locking the horse inside the basketball court. Alise has to get help from her grandfather, who used to own a horse and is the one who really knows about horses. He and Alise take the horse, Trigger, to a nearby stable. Then someone shows up and says that if Trigger hasn’t been ridden within two days, they’ll shoot it. That seems completely impossible. Everything happens at once, and when her grandfather becomes seriously ill, everything is up to Alise. How will she manage, when she knows nothing about horses?
