The story
Anne, who is pregnant, has just suffered an episode of amnesia and is found with a painting whose origins she cannot explain. It depicts a naked woman lying beside a lake, with a kite on her body. Back at home, Anne feels that a neighbor is watching her, but her husband does not take her fears seriously. Drawn to the painting, she tries to discover where it came from, even as it haunts her dreams.
