The story
Paula, Louise, Randolf, Max, and Donnie meet at an audition for a musical, where the course of love and career seems poised to be set. Randolf falls for Louise, but she is not interested in him and is more drawn to Donnie. Meanwhile, a connection begins to develop between Paula and Max. Paula hopes the audition will help salvage her acting career. The apparent opportunities for a fresh start, whether professionally or personally, soon lead to considerable chaos.

At an audition for a musical, five young people meet: Paula, Louise, Randolf, Max, and Donnie. It seems that this is where the course of love and career will be set. Randolf falls for Louise, who, however, is not interested in him but is more drawn to Donnie, while something is also beginning to develop between Paula and Max. Paula wants to salvage her acting career through the audition, but the seemingly available options for a fresh start, either professionally or personally, lead to a great deal of chaos.
