Full plot (contains spoilers)
Single mother Anna is trying to manage everyday life with her two-year-old twins. She loses her job as a waitress after dumping a plate of pasta onto the suit of an unpleasant customer. Responding to a job advertisement, she applies to the design furniture company Lehmann & Lehmann. Its boss, Max Lehmann, turns out to be that very same customer. But since he no longer remembers her, and Anna persuades him, he hires her as his personal assistant. To get the job, Anna assured Max that she had no children and was available without restriction. Things go well for a while, but when Anna has to drive Max to the airport, there is a risk that her lie will be exposed. After she confesses everything to him, Max fires her. Distracted, Anna fails to notice the closed barrier. She has to brake hard, and Max suffers memory loss from the impact. In desperation, Anna takes her boss to her apartment, where he slowly comes around. Max hears the twins crying, and Anna tells him they are his children. He believes her story and settles into his new role as a family man. While Max successfully tries his hand at being a househusband and babysitter, Anna continues going to work, since everyone at the company assumes the boss is attending a trade fair in Japan, and no one knows that he has fired her. Anna gets in touch with a major client whom Max has wanted to supply for a long time and whom they desperately need in order to save the company. But she promises him a sofa that does not yet exist. So she needs Max's help to design a new sofa. He does not realize that he is, in doing so, saving his own company. The next morning, they wake up together in bed. At the company, Anna meets the woman who was with Max at the restaurant back then. She introduces herself as Stephanie Lehmann, and in the course of their conversation Anna learns that she is pregnant. Anna thinks she is Max's wife. While Max is home alone, Anna's ex-husband comes by. After a heated exchange of words, he punches Max in the head. Max falls and hits his head hard on the floor. This restores his memory, and he leaves the apartment. When he goes to the meeting with the major client, he runs into Anna there, and they clear the air. Max explains to Anna that Stephanie is his sister, and so nothing stands in the way of their love.
