When interruptions derail Rolf and Anja’s private tryst, he tells her erotic stories that open onto a succession of tangled romantic situations.

The story

Rolf and his new girlfriend Anja slip into an apartment for a tryst, but a scream from the dentist next door and a propriety-minded building caretaker keep disrupting them. Whenever they are interrupted, Rolf begins an erotic story. The tales introduce shy Ingrid, out at a dance club with friends and already tipsy when womanizer Johnny picks her up; Maria and Toni, whose wish to marry is opposed by Toni’s father; and an art student invited by her professor to private lessons. In the Rhineland, pizza baker Ennio pursues Trina, whose mother has warned her against going all the way. Each strand begins with desire alongside a personal or social obstacle.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In the framing story, Rolf and his new girlfriend Anja, a pretty short-haired blonde, hurry into an apartment belonging to a certain Cäsar von Ficker. They strip off their clothes in no time and are just getting down to business when Anja hears a scream from the apartment next door, which belongs to Dr. Stoss, a dentist currently at work. Rolf is annoyed by the interruption, especially since the old building caretaker, who is always insisting on propriety and good manners, is lurking in the hallway. Back in the Ficker apartment, alone together again, Rolf starts telling Anja an erotic story whenever they are interrupted by someone yet again … The respectable and somewhat shy Ingrid is hanging out with three girlfriends at a dance club and is already a little tipsy when she lets herself be picked up by Johnny, a daring womanizer, who shortly afterward takes her virginity with little tenderness. She feels terrible afterward and regrets the one-night stand. Nevertheless, the young brunette has discovered that she enjoys casual sex. As a result, she goes from man to man, but finds no real satisfaction in these quick encounters. Things only change when her blonde, sexually quite forward friend Lilo drops by one day and stays the night. The two have a lot of fun together, and Ingrid now discovers that she likes women, too. But she has not quite given up on men, because there is still the shy Ernst, who behaves like a gentleman and with whom she falls in love. The buxom Maria is just about to have sex with her lover Toni at home in Upper Bavaria when her grandfather turns up. Toni wants to marry Maria properly, but his father, Aloisius, is against the relationship, which he considers beneath his son. Maria’s grandfather knows the secret surrounding Toni’s father: the middle-aged man is a real rogue, and no woman in the village is safe from him. So Toni and Maria’s grandfather lie in wait, hoping to catch Aloisius in the act during one of his sexual escapades. When the womanizer goes courting at a woman’s window yet again, Maria’s grandfather steals his leather breeches and announces that he’ll hang them up at the upcoming Schützenfest unless Aloisius agrees to Maria and Toni’s marriage. Now Toni’s father can no longer say no. Professor Staudinger teaches an art class at an academy. One of his students seems especially talented to him, so he invites her to private lessons. Ruth is supposed to paint him nude. During the private lesson, the two become more interested in each other’s naked bodies than in painting. Staudinger’s lust goes so far that he has fun with three muses in an orgy of color, and Maria catches him in the act. Disgusted, she runs off, and outside the house she happens to meet Staudinger’s son, Georg. They quickly take a liking to each other and eventually marry. But the girl, desperate for artistic recognition, returns to Professor Staudinger for another private lesson in wild sex. Soon she seems like wax in his hands, and although Ruth loves Georg, she cannot break away from his father. Somewhere in the Rhineland, pizza baker Ennio is eager to have his way with the virgin Trina, whose mother has sternly warned her not to go all the way when having sex. One evening, the two engage in heavy petting in Trina’s mother’s VW Beetle, but Trina stands firm and tells Ennio unequivocally: “No sex before marriage!” Then, amid their hands-and-feet tussle, the gear comes loose, the car rolls away, and it crashes into a wall. In the collision, Ennio’s little one accidentally slips into Trina’s most intimate place. So the two have unprotected sex, albeit unintentionally. “It was meant to be!” Ennio says matter-of-factly, and from then on they have a lot of fun together. Otto Hicks works as a private detective. He is just getting down to business with Margit, the wife of his business partner Oskar, when Oskar unexpectedly returns to the detective agency with a woman. From the next room, the adulterous couple watch Oskar passionately getting involved with the unknown woman. The two adulterers are indignant about Oskar’s infidelity. After they climax, the detective agency’s doorbell rings, and Oskar assumes that his wife is waiting outside. His lover is then hustled into the next room, where the still-naked Otto and Margit are waiting. But instead of Oskar’s wife, Otto’s better half walks in and is surprised to see Oskar naked. She says they should take advantage of the opportunity and immediately throws herself at her husband’s partner. In no time she, too, has stripped off her clothes to have sex with Oskar, while Otto, Margit, and the unknown woman eagerly peer through the keyhole. Oskar’s companion now wants a piece of the action, too, and blackmails Otto, threatening to start screaming unless he mounts her at once. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hicks rides Oskar cowgirl-style. Finally, the door to the next room—and everything else—flies open: Margit slaps her unfaithful husband, who asks, not entirely without reason, why his wife is naked. The unknown woman turns out to be Mrs. Bumsbach, owner of a massage parlor, who has an outstanding bill with the detective agency and pays it in kind rather than in cash. That more than settles the 1,200 marks: each of the two men who used her services still owes her 150 marks. The detectives’ two indignant, naked wives leave the scene. Rolf’s erotic stories have put the impatient Anja in the mood, and despite the constant chaos in the apartment building, the two finally get down to their tryst in the Ficker apartment. But suddenly the dentist, Dr. Stoss, bursts through the wall from next door, after a Bavarian patient has vigorously shoved him away while he was pulling a tooth. Rolf and Anja take it in stride and go at it all the more enthusiastically. The walls and ceiling shake, and the chandelier comes crashing down onto the building caretaker below, who has by now put on earmuffs. In the final shot, the exasperated old woman is seen with a glowing light bulb in her mouth.
