Full plot (contains spoilers)

Catarina (Maria de Medeiros) is a well-known journalist at SIC. She is bisexual and is currently in a relationship with Tê (Ana Bustorff), while constantly being tormented by Helena (Cristina Carvalhal), a rival journalist who accuses her of stealing the limelight. Catarina decides to get pregnant and chooses Rafael (Karra Elejalde), a Spanish doctor and activist, to father the child. She seduces him in Madrid and conceals her true identity from him. After confirming that she is pregnant, she ends things with Tê, who reacts violently. Rafael eventually discovers Catarina’s identity and address and turns up at her home in Lisbon at the same time as Tê visits her. After an exchange of blows is captured by a photojournalist, Tê and Rafael end up in the hospital. In the midst of the turmoil, Catarina asks Francisco (Joaquim de Almeida) for help. He is a television presenter and Tê’s ex-husband, and the director of a new television channel wants to hire him to host a show with Catarina called “Adam and Eve.” The two eventually begin a romantic relationship. A few weeks pass. Rafael is discharged from the hospital but does not return to Spain, instead staying near Catarina’s home and insisting that they have a bond and that Catarina cannot be alone now that she is going to be a mother. Tê, heavily medicated with antidepressants after leaving the psychiatric hospital where she had been staying, is determined to help Catarina and is euphoric that Francisco is with her, even though she cannot ignore Rafael and starts talking to him again, which Francisco does not take well. Meanwhile, Helena blackmails Catarina with the photos taken at her home and forces her to take part in a contest for the new channel, which Helena hosts and where she humiliates her guests. Francisco gets the photojournalist to hand over the only remaining photo, and Tê makes Helena miss the program’s filming by causing a car accident, recording her reaction, and threatening to release the video if she bothers Catarina again. The two of them go to Catarina’s home. Distracted by seeing them together, Catarina is nearly hit by a car, but Rafael saves her and falls to the ground unconscious. He survives. Catarina’s daughter is finally born, and she decides to name her Eva. When Tê, Francisco, and Rafael are faced with the hospital rules, which allow only the child’s father to see her, Tê replies: “The three of us are the child’s father.”
