The story
Diana sets out from Berlin for Paris with her two-year-old son, Lupo, and her brother, Arthur. Their goal is to complete the annual safety inspection for the rusty family car, registered in France. Despite having both a GPS and a map, the trip quickly veers off course, and each detour makes it less certain that the old Renault will reach Paris. What began as a relaxing summer journey becomes increasingly emotional, bringing the siblings and Lupo into contact with simmering family conflicts and underlying dynamics.

Diana sets off from Berlin for Paris with her two-year-old son, Lupo, and her brother, Arthur. The plan is to complete the annual safety inspection for the rusty family car, which is registered in France. Although they have a GPS and a map, the journey does not go according to plan at all. The more detours the trio takes, the less likely it seems that the old Renault will reach the French capital at all. What was originally planned as a relaxing summer trip thus turns into an emotional journey that forces Diana, Arthur, and Lupo to confront their family ties, unconscious dynamics, and simmering conflicts. After encounters with the police, a visit to their hostile mother, a stop at an intensely sensual party, a flat tire, a funeral, and further heated discussions, they eventually arrive in Italy. Along the way, they have formed new friendships and new hopes have emerged.
