Two debt collectors’ routine work in southern Morocco is upended when they encounter a handcuffed man at a desert gas station.
The story
Longtime friends Mehdi and Hamid work for poverty wages at a debt collection agency, driving their old car through the villages of southern Morocco and sharing double rooms in run-down hotels. They dress alike, wearing suits, ties and shoes that match, and appear to lead a repetitive life on the road. Their routine changes at a gas station in the middle of the desert, where a motorcycle pulls up in front of them with a man handcuffed to it. The encounter sets the two friends on an unexpected journey.
