Full plot (contains spoilers)
The Serbian-born police officer Klaus Roth is assigned to investigate undercover a Serbian gang operating in Berlin, which makes money through sports betting on fixed matches. To this end, he gets to know Luka Moravac, the nephew of the gang leader, Aco Goric. The two become friends and start bribing athletes and referees together, then placing bets. When the Turkish gangster Jyan Cyahan tries to muscle in on the betting business and compete with the Gorics, Luka is ordered to shoot Cyahan. While he is on his way to carry out the murder, Aco Goric meets with Cyahan’s employer, Marco Feri, a member of the Italian Mafia. Feri explains that Cyahan must stay alive because he is supposed to fix a football match for the Italians, who have placed bets worth 10 million euros on it. Goric wants to stop Luka, but cannot reach him. The police prevent the murder by deliberately causing a car accident and arresting Cyahan, but this leads Roth to be suspected of being an informant. To protect Roth’s cover, his superior has Spiridon, a member of the Goric clan, arrested, and plants manipulated evidence in Spiridon’s apartment to make it look as though he is the traitor. Aco orders Luka and Roth to bribe the referee of the football match in order to influence its outcome. Goric wants to make money from the match, while also assuming that the Mafia will kill Cyahan after losing its bets and will do business with the Gorics in the future. On match day, Luka and Roth are waiting for the referee at halftime when Aco’s son, Radan Goric, suddenly comes to collect them. They leave the stadium and drive into a forest in a car that also contains Cyahan. There, Radan gives Luka a gun so that he can shoot Cyahan. When Luka cannot bring himself to do it, Radan hands the gun to Roth and demands that he prove he is one of them. Roth identifies himself as a police officer and tries to arrest Radan, whereupon Radan asks Luka whether he believes him now. The supposed plan to double-cross the Italian Mafia was a trap devised by Aco Goric to expose Roth as a police officer. Radan draws his gun and shoots Cyahan. When Roth then tries to shoot Radan, he discovers that his own gun is unloaded. As Luka silently turns around and walks back to the car, Radan shoots Roth.
