Das Mädchen am Strand (2020)

At Nordholm Beach, a graduating class celebrates their high school graduation exuberantly. Among them is student Jule Reinhardt, who vanishes without a trace during the festivities. The next morning, her body is found in a forest on the cliffs. The Hamburg Homicide Squad takes over the investigation under the leadership of Chief Inspector Simon Kessler, as a connection is suspected to the death of a girl in Hamburg who had rented an apartment there together with Jule. In addition to Jule’s classmates, her teacher Dirk Eilers in particular comes under investigators’ scrutiny; he is rumored to have had an affair with Jule. Real estate agent Klaus Steinkamp, for whom Jule’s mother once worked, is also considered a possible perpetrator. But Sven Christensen also seems to be involved in Jule’s murder. He is the son of Kessler’s former colleague Hella Christensen, who has since left the police force. Because of her son’s involvement, she now investigates on her own, in parallel with Kessler. This inevitably leads to a confrontation between them. In the end, it is revealed that Lisa Steinkamp killed Jule Reinhardt when it emerged that Klaus Steinkamp was the father of both of them and she felt her family was under threat.
