Full plot (contains spoilers)

Jola and Claire are twin sisters who have set out on a sea voyage. A serious disaster strikes: the ship sinks, the sisters are separated, and they end up on a seemingly uninhabited, exotic island. Claire escapes the island and eventually makes her way to Paris. There, she becomes a femme fatale, seducing men and bringing them to ruin. One of Claire’s victims is Jean Hudin, who then wants to take his own life. He is rescued by an enigmatic man named Dr. Codrus, who plans to organize an expedition with him and other lost souls—an undertaking that resembles a suicide mission. Its aim is nothing less than to find Atlantis and recover the legendary treasures of the sunken metropolis. On Rapa Nui, where Atlantis is believed to lie, Jean meets Jola, while her sister Claire takes her own life. Jean Hudin and Jola grow closer after the young man frees her from the clutches of a sinister gang led by the ruthless Amazon Dolores Coreto. The elegant and charming Baron Armand, another member of the expedition, helps Hudin fight Dr. Codrus, who increasingly proves to be a scheming villain. Matters take a dramatic turn when a volcano on the island suddenly erupts, threatening to bury everyone in its ashfall. Jola, Hudin, and the Baron manage to make their way to the expedition ship and escape the renewed sinking of Atlantis as it disappears beneath the waves.
