Full plot (contains spoilers)

Amelie Kreuser is out with her four-year-old son, Maxi. While his mother is asleep, the boy wanders off. Worried, she searches for him and eventually informs the police. Meanwhile, Maxi has walked all the way to Frühling. Pastor Sonnleitner finds him there and reports it to the police, so Amelie is able to pick him up. Village helper Katja Baumann is surprised to see Amelie again after four years. She still remembers the problems Amelie’s early pregnancy caused with her boyfriend’s mother. And it seems little has changed: although Amelie is very happy with Ingo and their son, his mother still rejects her. When Ingo and his mother arrive, Katja sees this for herself. High-handedly, Tanja Schwarz decides that her grandson will of course come back to the farm with her and her son—something Amelie is not at all happy about. Katja offers Amelie her guest room, which she gratefully accepts. As a result, Katja has to cancel her date with Tom Kleinke because she doesn’t want to leave Amelie alone with her problems. Amelie pours out all her worries, and Katja understands her well, especially since Amelie is right about many things. To find a solution, Katja heads to the “Schwarz Farm.” She suggests to Ingo’s mother that she stand in for her children for a day so the two of them can take a short holiday. While working there, Katja sees for herself how high-handedly Tanja Schwarz makes every decision, and how nothing Katja does is good enough for her. Katja tells the woman to her face that she admires Amelie for having put up with her for so long. When Ingo and his girlfriend return from their outing, he tells his mother that he intends to marry Amelie. He also stands his ground, saying he no longer wants to work on the farm and finally wants to pursue his dream of making music. Ingo’s mother is somewhat shocked, but she intends to get along with Amelie from now on, since Amelie would very much like to work on the farm and has some new ideas as well.
