The story

When young Jesús López dies in an accident, his parents and hometown are plunged into grief. After the funeral, his parents invite his cousin Abel to stay with them for a few days, and the family’s sadness seems to ease. Abel begins taking on aspects of Jesús’s role, a change the townspeople initially tolerate. Yet the imitation unsettles Abel even as he grows comfortable in his new life. He had long admired Jesús, and now he enjoys wearing his clothes, spending time with Jesús’s old biker gang, and listening to music with them.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

A young man named Jesús López dies in an accident. His parents are left in shock, and a dark shadow hangs over the entire town Jesús came from. Only when they begin to bring his cousin Abel into their lives, asking him to stay with them for a few days after their son’s funeral, does it seem that the general sadness begins to lift. Abel tries to take on Jesús’s role, which the townspeople initially tolerate but which makes him increasingly uncomfortable. However, Abel now feels quite at ease in his new life and does not want to give it up so easily. He had always admired Jesús, that tall, handsome, very self-assured man. He enjoys wearing his clothes, going out with Jesús’s old biker gang, and listening to music with them.
