Full plot (contains spoilers)
Aki Mizunuma, a female racing driver, takes a break after hearing a mysterious voice calling to her and suffering a series of accidents. But the village she visits is a sinister place, with strange umbrella-topped Buddhist memorial posts standing in rows. Aki is the illegitimate child born of a union between the main and branch households of the Ubugata family, the village’s pottery-kiln owners. The voice calling to her belongs to her mother, Miho, who was tortured to death and fell into hell. Manipulated by her mother’s voice, Aki kills members of the Ubugata family and continues to commit sins, including having a sexual relationship with Yukio, her older half-brother. Aki, too, falls into hell.
