L'attachement (2024)

Sandra, a single woman in her fifties, runs a feminist bookstore. When the couple in the neighboring apartment, Alex and Cécile, have to go to the hospital for Cécile to give birth, Sandra agrees to look after their six-year-old son, Elliott, even though she is not particularly interested in children. The birth goes badly, and the mother dies while giving birth to a girl named Lucille. Gradually, Sandra becomes an important female role model not only for the boy, but also for the widowed father and little Lucille. Later, the situation becomes more complicated when Elliott’s biological father makes himself known and Alex begins a relationship with Emillia, his daughter’s pediatrician.
