A retired former armed robber tries to leave his criminal past behind while his childhood friend remains in the life.
The story
Edmond “Momon” Vidal grew up in a Gypsy camp, where he learned the importance of family, loyalty, and pride in his origins. Close to childhood friend Serge Suttel, he once went to prison with him for stealing cherries. The two later entered organized crime and experienced their heyday with the Lyonnais Gang, a group of famous armed robbers in the early 1970s. After a dramatic arrest ended that chapter in 1974, Momon, now 67, has retired from “the business” and lives with his wife, Janou, hoping to put his past behind him. Serge, however, has not changed his ways.
