As she prepares to leave the apartment she shared with her partner, an aging actress turns her belongings into prompts for a final autobiographical film.

The story

Maria, an aging actress who has achieved the artistic success she dreamed of, feels that some private longings remain unfulfilled and decides to break with her old life. On the street, she engages a young cameraman and begins telling him her life story, sometimes addressing Richard, the man who discovered her and became her life partner. Speaking directly to the camera, she reflects on her relationship, her profession, growing older, and the happiness and pain she has known. As she prepares to leave the apartment she shared with Richard, packing each object prompts memories and becomes part of the film she is making about her life.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Maria, an aging actress, has achieved everything in her career that an artist like her could dream of. But in her private life, some longings remained unfulfilled, so she decides to break with her old life. On the street, she engages a young cameraman and confesses her life story to him, addressing some of it directly to Richard, the man who discovered her and her life partner. Maria is in dialogue with the camera. She talks about herself, her relationship with her husband, her profession, growing older, endings and beginnings. She remembers what brought her happiness, and the pain she experienced and that stayed with her. “I am what I play, and I am not.” The reason for her confession is that she is setting out from her old life. Maria is about to leave the apartment she shared with the director Richard. As she packs her suitcase, every object in her hands becomes a starting point for memories. In this way, every piece of her life becomes a prop in her final film.
