Millionenschwer verliebt (2006)

Lisa Roth’s life revolves around her loved ones: her boyfriend, the painter René; her mother, Ruth; and her son, Jörg. When she catches her boyfriend with another woman, she moves in with her gay friend Simon. He works as a porter at the Park Hotel in Vitznau and gets Lisa a job as a maid. After an accident causes expensive damage, she starts swindling the hotel’s wealthy guests with Gabriella Schneider, whom she met at the hotel, in order to pay for it. They collect donations for good causes using made-up stories, but keep the money for themselves. In the process, Lisa falls in love with one of their victims, the businessman Martin Brodmann. He falls in love with her too. Nevertheless, Lisa manages to persuade him to transfer a large sum of money into Gabriella Schneider’s account. Plagued by guilt, Lisa asks Martin to cancel the transfer. He does so and leaves for New York. The next day, Lisa learns from the hotel manager that the insurance will cover the financial consequences of her accident. He offers her a job managing the bar. At Christmas, Martin Brodmann turns up dressed as Santa Claus, whereupon everything works out for the best.
